Classes weave together Hatha yoga practices, gentle vinyasa (flow), pranayama (breath), and relaxation to develop strength, enhance balance and cultivate a sense of calm. Breath and yoga postures are linked together to create the experience of a moving meditation, transitioning into more restorative postures that help relieve tension and promote relaxation. I will encourage you to find your own rhythm, move at your pace and rest whenever needed. I’m passionate about building community and strive to create an environment that is friendly, supportive, and welcoming to all.

My training
I am a registered yoga teacher with over 35 years of dedicated practice. My journey with yoga began in my teens. I fell in love with the movement but soon discovered that yoga also helped me to develop a deeper connection to myself and cultivate a sense of inner calm. Over the years, I’ve explored many different styles of yoga. My yoga practice is now deeply influenced by Terra Somma, a style that blends hatha yoga, somatic inquiry and embodied nature awareness.

I completed my initial yoga teacher training with Vincent Bolletta (Hansa Yoga). I have continued to deepen my learning completing the Art of Teaching with Donna Farhi, Mental Health Aware Yoga with Dr Lauren Tober and The Art and Science of Rest Advanced Yoga Teacher training with Awakening Arts along with other workshops with YogaUOnline and Anahata Yoga Retreat. My teaching has also been deeply influenced by the invaluable experience of practicing with and learning from Dr Jane Hardcastle (Yoga Therapist - Yogatherapyworks). I have a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Human Services, a Certificate in Adult Teaching and a Certificate of Tertiary Teaching. I am member of Yoga New Zealand and the International Yoga Teachers Association (NZ)
